UPPER WEST SIDE
TRANSITIONAL
Designed for a family entering a new chapter, this Upper West Side apartment was reimagined from a two-bedroom layout into a three-bedroom home, giving the children more space of their own as they grew into their teenage years.

The renovation focused on making the apartment work more beautifully for everyday life. Behinteriors introduced thoughtful storage throughout the home, helping each space feel more functional without losing its warmth or character.

In the primary bedroom, a warm off-white palette creates a soft, restful backdrop, while a sage green ceiling adds a quiet layer of contrast and calm. Patterned wallpaper and layered details bring personality to the room while keeping the overall feeling serene.

The hallway was also given its own sense of presence. Instead of treating it as a simple pass-through, Behin used color, pattern, and detailing to make it a more memorable transition between rooms while adding storage that supports the family’s daily routines.
Together, these spaces show how a New York City apartment can evolve with a family, becoming more functional, cohesive, and full of character over time.
